Swar Taan Academy is a dedicated music school focused on Hindustani classical training, combining traditional discipline with a structured, student-friendly approach. Designed for learners across levels, the academy builds strong foundations while encouraging musical growth over time.

Dr. Prakash Ballesh Bhajantri

Dr. Prakash Ballesh Bhajantri, a Surmani awardee, is a Hindustani classical vocalist, guru, and performer, carrying forward a rich musical lineage as the son and disciple of Padmashri Pt. Dr. S. Ballesh Bhajantri. His training spans Kirana, Gwalior, and Patiala gharanas, with early guidance from Shehnai Samrat Pt. Sanna Bharamanna, followed by intensive taleem under Pt. Dr. D.P. Hiremath and advanced training from Pt. M. Venkatesh Kumar, along with continued learning under his father. He has also received inspiration and blessings from Ustad Rashid Khan.

As a versatile artist, he performs Hindustani vocal music along with harmonium, tabla, and Banarasi dukkad, and has presented his art at leading platforms including the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav, Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, Tansen Samaroh, Ganga Mahotsav, and Sur Singar Sansad.

He has collaborated and performed alongside eminent musicians such as Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, and Ronu Majumdar, with accompaniment from artists like Yogesh Samsi and Subhankar Banerjee.

His work also extends to global and contemporary platforms, including performances in the United States and Malaysia with A.R. Reihana.

As a dedicated guru, he has trained over 250 students across India and internationally, including participants of ZEE Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Vijay TV Super Singer, and is known for his rigorous yet accessible approach rooted in swar, laya, and consistent riyaaz.

Parampara

The founder’s training is rooted in a living musical lineage that shapes both depth and discipline. His learning follows a continuous guru–shishya parampara, where knowledge is passed through direct guidance, listening, and sustained practice.

Padmashri Pt. Dr. S. Ballesh Bhajantri

Primary guru and father, under whom he trained in Patiala gharana khayal gayaki, along with deep exposure to shehnai, harmonium accompaniment, and stage performance.
